The Energy Auditor program is 300 class hours in duration, delivered over 10 weeks. Students enrolled in this program will, upon completion, be able to enter the work force as an entry level home, small business energy auditor/inspector/systems integrator. There are many established businesses offering these services for the government and private sector business and industry and the use of entry level personal to assist these professionals will increase. It is also predicted that, with the passage of the recent energy efficiency legislation, the desire for homeowners to request home energy audits will increase and this program will prepare students to fill these positions or to create new business opportunities.The outcome of this program is to have students fully understand the role energy efficiency has in daily life, how it can be applied, and how these systems can be verified to be installed and operated correctly.
