“All people empowered by sustainable communities to fulfill their souls’ calling.” --Karl Kaufman "America can build a clean-energy future while creating five million new green jobs right here in the United States for our workers" --Barack Obama What if we could train 5 million citizens nationwide for meaningful, well-paying Renewable Energy Careers, securing US energy independence over the next four years? American Green Careers is partnering with schools and renewable energy organizations including the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association and Wayne County Community College District to train up the emerging green workforce. This exciting new coalition will deliver the training needed to prepare our highly-skilled laid-off workers for successful careers in the new Green Economy, and demonstrate a model that can be immediately up-scaled and replicated State-wide and Nationally. Our Legacy / Company StoryBuilding on the seven years of high quality Medical Career education provided by American Medical Careers to Flint, Lansing & Detroit, American Green Careers has begun delivering Green Career education. Founder Karl Kaufman was raised on his father Maynard Kaufman's "School of Homesteading," a live-in small-scale organic farm, working in partnership with Western Michigan University's Environmental Studies Program in the 1970's. There he worked on the small-scale diversified dairy farm with the methane gas digester, and began a life-long passion for renewable energy. Currently, Karl's Dad lives off-the-grid in a solar and wind-powered home, which Karl helped build. Karl is committed that others will enjoy the freedom of being able to choose Utility Power or self-generated electricity. |
